Sandford Surveying and Engineering, Inc., is an engineering and surveying firm offering a variety of land planning services, ranging from small residential surveys to large company site plans. Founded in 1990, we are based in Bedford, New Hampshire and provide services mainly to Hillsborough, Merrimack, and Rockingham counties.
Our mission is to be a small, comprehensive, and reliable surveying and engineering firm that works closely and personally with our clients to serve them in a timely and excellent manner.
The founder of SSE, Earl is a licensed Professional Engineer (Civil/Structural), Licensed Land Surveyor, Septic Designer, Certified Wetlands Scientist, and Certified Water Works Operator. He is a member of the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association (NHLSA), Structural Engineers of New Hampshire (SENH), and the New Hampshire Association of Natural Resource Scientists (NHANRS). Earl served on the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Board of Licensure from 2003 to 2013. Besides his job as president of SSE, he teaches classes in Surveying and Grading at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH. He graduated from University of New Hampshire in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He founded SSE in 1990.
Bob is the office manager and chief surveyor at Sandford Surveying and Engineering. He brings a diversified background to the company with over 35 years of experience in surveying and mapping. Bob graduated with an Associates in Applied Science in Forest Technology from SUNY-ESF, Ranger School and has been working in the land planning industry ever since. He is a Licensed Land Surveyor and a member of the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association (NHLSA). He has worked with SSE since 2013, coming on as a full time employee in 2015.
Lori is responsible for the majority of Sandford Surveying’s surveying and engineering drafting, from detailing work sheets to labeling setbacks. Lori has worked in the surveying field since 1983 and has over 30 years of drafting experience. She has taken classes at New Hampshire Vocational Technical College and University of New Hampshire. Lori has been a member of SSE since 2000.
While working for a large New England surveying and engineering firm, Earl Sandford developed a vision for a streamlined and personalized way to serve those in need of surveying and engineering services. A born-and-raised New Hampshirite, Earl wanted to be able to work closely and personally with local clients without sacrificing the variety and excellence of a larger firm. In 1988, he brought his twelve years of experience back to his home town area to form Sandford Surveying and Engineering, Inc.
The business started out of Earl’s home and eventually moved to an office space in New Boston before returning to a newly constructed office space on Earl's property in the early 2000's. Today the office features a beautiful view of a pond and regal pines.
Since its founding, Sandford Surveying has served thousands of New Hampshire clients. Their satisfaction is largely thanks to the efforts of a highly skilled and interdisciplinary team that takes pride in the company's history of trustworthy excellence.
